Jo Ceremonial Matcha, 50g | Yame, Kyushu

There is a pattern here, Jo, Tokujo and Tokusen are all related!  Jo is the youngest brother of the bunch.  This is a direct import from Kyushu, Yame. This is our best value matcha.  It is similar to Tokujo and Tokusen in the sense that it also has a very clear bitter cacao flavor and aroma, but lacks the complexity and deeper dimensions to it.  This is a matcha that you can enjoy either with milk or without.  It is direct, to the point and incredibly pleasant.  We have personally been enjoying it as iced matcha latte at the shop and honestly the cacao flavor comes through very clearly.  This is also very limited and will sell out.  If you want a good deal for a matcha that will get you through the day, you should pick this up.

For a thick tea: warm up your bowl with hot water, sieve 2,5 to 3 grams of matcha, pour 30 grams of 70 degrees water, mix everything together with your whisk until perfectly creamy and foamy. I, Hillel Lowinsky, prefer a thicker tea because when it's as delicious as our matcha, the umami leaves a creamy coating in my mouth and the flavors and aromas stick around for hours.
