About this product
Most houjicha is made from late-season bancha — the leftover harvest after premium teas are processed. Ours isn't. This is spring-harvested tencha — the same premium leaves used for high-end matcha — sourced directly from Wazuka, Kyoto.
The difference in the cup is immediate: rich chocolate, savory umami, fresh fruity sweetness. None of the flat, smoky harshness of standard roasted tea. This is what houjicha tastes like when the leaves are this good.
Low in caffeine, smooth at any time of day. Hot or iced.
